Golf Cart Registration/Inspection Dates

Golf cart registration and inspection scheduled for tonight has been canceled due to weather. Registration will be held this Saturday morning, April 7th from 8:00 - 11:00 a.m. and Wednesday, April 11, 2018, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Golf Cart Registration
Current golf cart stickers expire at the end of this month and all carts are required to be inspected annually. Inspection and registration dates are as follows at the village office:
Wednesday, April 4, 2018 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 7, 2018 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
The following items are required to operate a golf cart within the village limits:
Lights
Brake Lights
Turn Signals
Slow Moving Vehicle Sign
Red/Orange Flag at least 6 ft high
Rearview Mirror
Proof of CURRENT Insurance
Driver’s License
A registration sticker will NOT be issued if the cart does not have this working equipment.
ALL Illinois Rules of the Road must be obeyed while operating the cart which includes having a valid driver’s license and insurance. The cart must also be registered with the Village of Clifton.
Per the village slow moving vehicle ordinance, "Persons found to be in violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall be subject to the penalties provided for in Section 1-4-1 of the Village Code...". Section 1-4-1 of the Village Code states, "Any person convicted of a violation of any section or provision of this Village Code, where no other penalty is set forth, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) for any one offense."
